what-is-utility

What is a Utility Survey?

A Utility Survey is a non-invasive method of locating buried infrastructure that uses Electromagnetic Locators (EML) and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to record the line, location, and depth of known, unknown, live, abandoned, metallic, and non-metallic utilities and present the results to the client in a simple and logical manner based on their specifications.

What is a Topographical Survey?

A Topographical Survey, sometimes referred to as a Land Survey, is the process required to produce an accurate and detailed map identifying both the natural and man-made feature within an area. The collected data may be presented in many formats, from a simple paper plan to a full three-dimensional (3D) digital model, depending on the client’s requirements. Today the most common presentation is as a digital data set which is also plotted out as drawings.

What is a Measured Building Survey?

A Measured Building Survey is the collection of measured data to enable the surveyor to be able to produce plans, elevations or sectional drawings of a building. Measured data can be delivered as two dimensional drawings but more commonly three dimensional ‘BIM ready’ solid or wireframe models are the requested deliverables.

What is a GPR Survey?

A Ground Penetrating Radar Survey, commonly referred to as a GPR Survey, is a non-intrusive geophysical locating technique that employs radio waves to image below the surface of the ground. GPR systems are commonly used to located buried utilities, structural features and voids.
